Just imagine, if some industries disappear from Hong Kong, what will our life be like? While everyone is talking about smart city innovation and technology, our feature here is to explore how traditional industries can transcend society’s established impressions, achieve greater sustainability and social contribution, and how our industry leaders can achieve through innovation and creativity to solve the current problems faced by traditional industries.
“Tomorrow is Now” is a social sustainability project produced by Social Enterprise Research Academy (SERA). This project is to go beyond the surface and see how traditional industries tried to surpass social stigmas and become better in sustainability and better for the society, and how our industry leaders managed to solve the problems with innovation and creativity. It invited our Fellows, industry consultants and council members to reveal the six major industries in Hong Kong.

Why is the number of captains trained by the sea school not enough to respond to market demand despite the high salary?
